Durham Weather-ready Home Assessment
Durham’s Weather-ready Home Assessment Service is a free and comprehensive evaluation of residents’ homes to assess their readiness for extreme weather events, including extreme heat and cold, flooding, and windstorms. This assessment identifies potential vulnerabilities in a home’s structure, landscaping, and critical systems.
This program is open to homeowners, landlords, and tenants.
Although on-site assessments are no longer available to new applicants, remote assessments are still available.
About Remote Assessments
- Assessments have a 60-minute duration.
- Participants use our mobile form to take and submit photos of required features around their property and in the basement of their home.
- A video call is scheduled between the assessor and resident to review photos and complete the assessment.
